The Upcoming 2017 Lincoln Continental Review Oct 24, 2016 by Cedric (Driver Weekly)
The new 2017 Lincoln Continental provides a truly luxurious experience for drivers and passengers alike. The signature grille with a unique mesh turns heads without dominating the car, and the seamless interior combines refined style and luxurious comfort.
The 2017 Continental combines a handsome exterior with a refined interior that embodies “quiet luxury.”. Lincoln puts the competition to shame when it comes to creating a comfortable environment. After all, the power seats adjust thirty ways and have convenient in-door controls. Even the rear seats are equipped with heating, massage function, and lumbar support. Opt for the twin-panel panoramic glass roof for a two-panel view of the sky. It comes with a front panel that is power retractable and glides open, so the rear passengers never have their view blocked.
The new flagship puts drivers in control of a 3.7-liter V6 engine with 305 horsepower and front-wheel drive. Those who want more power from the premium sedan will appreciate the optional 335-horsepower 2.7-liter turbocharged engine that works with all-wheel drive. Drivers in search of the most possible power will want to go with the 3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine with torque vectoring to get 400 horsepower. Every engine comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission, and the Continental can get up to 20 mpg combined. Lincoln Drive Control is paired with every engine and gives you a smoother driving experience with continuously controlled damping, electric power-assisted steering, and active noise control.
Lincoln went to great lengths to find the right materials for their flagship model. The interior is lined with Scottish leather and an available natural-pattern wood trim with brown swirl walnut or espresso swirl ash. The Scottish Bridge of Weir leather undergoes a softening process that lasts a full sixteen hours; out of the entire class, this is only offered on the Continental. The center console is seamless, and the tambour cup holder was laser cut and features a roll top. It is these little details separate a top-of-the-line luxury vehicle from just an expensive trim.
Most vehicles on the market claim to have the latest technology, but the 2017 Continental is one of the few that actually does. The Revel Ultima Audio System has 19 speakers so you can hear everything clearly. The in-dash instrument cluster is completely digital and lets you configure it in three ways so you can choose where you want to view every piece of information. This car also comes with the most recent version of SYNC 3 with voice activation and the MyLincoln Mobile application to access your vehicle remotely.
Innovative technology extends to safety with adaptive cruise control that includes stop and go. This system uses the radar and camera to adjust to match the pace of vehicles by you, even completely stopping and restarting. You can also take advantage of the 360-degree camera and Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection. Comfort, elegant design, and advanced features make this one of our most anticipated new luxury cars for 2017.
