Top 5 Audi Sport Models May 18, 2017 by James (Driver Weekly)

Today, drivers have access to vehicles with powerful sport engines, sleek design, and functional sizes. Audi doesn’t just set the bar; it surges past the bar every year. Audi Sport has fueled the motorsports arena for the last 80 years with pedigree racing cars with track-inspired performance. Here are our top five Audi Sport models.

5. 2014 Audi RS7

The 2014 Audi RS7 shares the 4-liter V8 twin turbo engine with the S7 and kicks out a remarkable 420 hp with 406 pounds of torque. The first souped-up version of the S7 deserves a special nod on this list. It achieves a maximum horsepower of 553 at 5700 rpm, and its maximum torque is achievable on a long stretch from 1750 to 5500 rpm. This machine can manage 0 to 60 mph in about 3.7 seconds. When unrestricted, the RS7 can kiss a 200 mph maximum speed limit, though this would require driving on very high tire pressure.

To provide a quick up and down automatic shift, the RS7 is equipped with the ZF-sourced 8-speed torque-converter automatic. While this leaves a lot to be desired in the manual shifting mode, this fast beauty has multiple driving modes, the hardest of which is the Dynamic mode that sharpens both the chassis and engine response for remarkable agility. It is equipped with the RS sports suspension Plus that incorporates diagonally opposed dampers that are connected by the hydraulic lines and are controlled by a central valve to cause an immediate response at corners to eliminate body roll. The 21-inch wheelbase is the icing on this well baked metallic cake. The RS7 has adaptive air suspension and spacious insides giving it excellent comfort. Unless you want the space of a hatchback, this machine is all you will ever need on any journey.
